French Consulate Visit

We are in San Francisco right now applying for long term visas for the stay in France. There were countless documents and copies gathered for this occasion, which included some stress induced bickering along the way. All in all, however, it seemed to go relatively well. At least, we think so. The man who processed our paperwork was incredibly friendly. He said we should get a call next week to indicate the status, and we would have to come back in one more time to pick things up.

We spent most of the day walking around San Francisco with the kids. They are fascinated about being in the downtown of a big city. We got a hotel last night near Union Square and have not used the car since parking it last night. They really seem to enjoy the sights and sounds of walking to different places. I told them to get used to the walking. I realized that this was one of the first big cities that they have really walked around. They were stimulated by the ethnic diversity. They saw and really seemed to register the plight of the homeless. We gave money to several and blessed them. Seeing the kids alive with excitement in this city actually made Bryan and me excited about going to Paris. I thought outloud to Bryan today, "Wow, this is actually going to happen!"
