Ah, we're here in Paris. We spent the first two days at a hotel I snagged on Priceline, and then moved out to the Disneyland Paris area as we have a timeshare at the Marriott that we traded into for a week until our actual apartment in Massy is ready. I have to tell you: all this moving around is the pits. But we're having a good time wandering around trying to get acclimated to the time zone. The first few days the kids took several hour afternoon naps and were up until 2:30AM each night. Last night was the first night they slept what I would consider normal. Then, it was my turn to take a three hour nap today. Someday, hopefully, we will all be caught up.
We're anxious to see our new apartment as we only know its size but have not seen any photos. The kids will be starting school in about a week and a half, and next Monday, Ian will be meeting his teacher and a few other kids his age who will be in his class. (also Americans) I am not sure what the plan is for Isabel's class yet. Bryan and I are both anxious to learn some basics, so we can get around more easily and sound "frenchy'. My Pepe Le Peu laugh really doesn't count. Also, I would like to be able to ask someone: "Why, oh why, do you use so many traffic circles?" Je suis tres confuse....about the design of your highway systems.
Nevertheless, I am nearing a bread induced starch coma, and I must begin to cut the daily (high) intake of pastries and baguettes. I'm sorry...I just don't understand how French women do stay thin (according to the NY Times bestseller several years ago). Because the food is so darn delicious. I've taken to running every day, but the jeans are still getting a bit tighter. Regular eating must resume next week. I should be allowed to indulge my first week here, no? WWJD? I think he would have difficulty resisting that apricot crossaint and pain au raisins I had in the last couple days.
Keep us in your prayers. We did have financial type hassles this week which were frustrating given that money is something we need to keep budgeted. It seems we got hit with a lot of unfair fees on various things right before we left and even at the last hotel we stayed at. I know God is in control, but I do want to steward the money he has given us wisely. Other than that, just prayers to keep Bryan and I focused...so much of our time now is in details of getting settled, and sometimes that produces disagreements or an occasional argument that really is out of character for the both of us. Unity and connection would be our prayer.

Continuing to pray for you, and delighted that you are in Paris! I remember the French roundabouts well. Our GPS would announce them to us ahead of time. I actually think they are genius!

Praying for no strife or discord - we know where that comes from. I will pray that you can both see it for what it is as soon as you start to even have thoughts of fussin' at each other. ;)
